Nothing Lasts Forever
Every other year Jen and I travel north to The New York Botanical Garden Orchid Show. It's a nice way to spend a spring day. We take a bunch a photos, eat lunch and enjoy the day. This year we did the same. Over the years we have taken hundreds of pictures of these beautiful little flowers.
This year I compiled a selection of orchids to create paintings. The paintings are small. Most are 4.75" X 4.75" and 8" X 5.5" in size. If time allows I may have some 8" X 10" wooden panels as well. Starting on May 1, 2018 I have begun the process of painting as many orchids as I can. I'm shooting for thirty-five or more paintings by September. I'm using acrylic paint on prepared cardboard. I'm calling this group "Nothing Lasts Forever". All the pieces will be matted and framed and ready for sale at the end of the summer.
I've been preparing for this for a few years, but have never devoted the time to it. This summer is the time. I will be adding orchids to this blog post as I complete them. Check back to see my progress. I'll also be adding them to Instagram. Hopefully the pictures will get better. Capturing these beauties digitally has been a bit of a challenge.
I also have some other projects coming up this summer, so stay tuned. Sign up for notifications.
