THREE paintings, 8"x 10", acrylic, gauche and color pencil on wood. Art by Getch. These three pieces of art were inspired by trips to the beaches of Anguilla. One of the most spectacular beaches on Anguilla, Shoal Bay East, has been eroding for sometime, altering the beach and reef. Our favorite hangout is Gwen's Reggae Grill which had to be picked up and moved about a mile away. The paintings are of roots and sticks, washed up and sticking out of the sand cliffs left behind by erosion where Gwen's used to sit. I highly recommend a visit. "Begin Again," 36" x 72", acrylic mixed medium original painting by Getch. Completed in 2011, this painting took many years of changes and new beginnings to create. It became an experiment and contains many elements of other illustrations and paintings that were produced by Getch during the time it took to finish. This piece is mostly acrylic paint applied to stretched canvas with some color pencil highlights and some South Korean newspapers from the original idea, forming the Mini Mountain Range/Lake of Wonders. Look closely to see the different elements that make up this beautiful surreal fantasy, including the Heart of Life's Production above the mountain range and the subtle reminder of death in the clouds above it. The painting is composed of three, 36" x 24" canvas panels that are screwed together from behind making one 36" x 72" piece. This will ship in three pieces and requires assembly. It is easy to mount on a wall but will need at least six feet of wall space. It should not be placed in direct sunlight. The cost of the painting includes free shipping anywhere in the USA. Inktober is an annual Instagram drawing/illustration challenge using ink in any application to create one illustration a day for the entire month of October. There are some who use a suggested daily topic or you can just wing it and do what ever comes to mind. After you finish your illustration you post it to Instagram and hashtag it. There is no prize, just the satisfaction of completing the challenge and of course practice. Inktober 2017 was my first challenge and I really enjoyed it. All the drawings are mounted and framed and available in my shop.
